City refreshes customer facing area at Wesfleur municipal building

04 July 2023

The City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys, visited the Wesfleur Municipal Building in Atlantis yesterday, 3 July 2023 to see the recently improved customer service centre.

'It is very important that when residents visit a municipal facility they are entering a safe, welcoming, and neat environment that is operating efficiently. The physical environment is very much an indication of the level of professionalism a resident should expect at these facilities. The Corporate Services Directorate has initiated the Visible Improvement Programme (VIP) for enhancements at municipal buildings across the city. Everything from our waiting areas to our cashier tellers, the front gardens and landscaping, is being looked at. Our main objective is to refresh the customer service centres so that our residents can see and feel they are entering a building where we are hard at work to serve them,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.

The Wesfleur Municipal Building is one of the City's administrative facilities that houses the local revenue office, Subcouncil office, housing office and various other municipal offices. The Corporate Services Directorate through its VIP improved the customers' experience at this key municipal building in Atlantis by refurbishing the ground floor public facing areas and installing a generator at the facility so that services do not have to be interrupted during load-shedding.
